Inner Awareness, For Outer Radiance: Connecting as Spiritual Women 🌸
Dear Beloveds,
As I sit here, I find myself reflecting on what it means to be a spiritual woman in today’s world. If you’ve read any of my journal entries before you may notice a shift in my tone. This is because recently I realised how many people I’ve connected with online, through socials, my website and emails and I’ve really felt your presence. It moved me so deeply. And it’s helped me to be more vulnerable and open in this space. I feel the desire to connect more.
What I’ve come to understand about myself in recent times is that in the midst of the busyness of life—work, family, relationships, and the endless demands on my time—there’s often a quiet longing that stirs within. A longing to come home to a deeper sense of my reality. To feel connected. To live from a place within myself that connects me to my radiance, my energy and my life force.
And here is the exciting part, I know more than ever that this journey is not one we’re meant to walk alone.
In the teachings of yoga, Ayurveda, and bhakti, there’s a profound truth: connection is sacred. Connection to the divine within, to the world around us, and to each other. As spiritual women, we are like silken threads in a glorious tapestry that weaves together the wisdom of the feminine—the energy of Shakti that pulses through all of creation.
But in order to connect with others in a meaningful way, we must first connect with ourselves.
Inner Awareness: The First Step Toward Connection
In yoga and Ayurveda, we are reminded again and again that the inner world shapes the outer. How we feel inside—our awareness, our energy, our sadhana (spiritual practice)—creates the foundation for how we show up in the world.
When we meditate, chant mantra, or flow through asana, we’re doing more than calming our minds or stretching our bodies. We are aligning with something deeper: the radiant pulse of Shakti, the energy that sustains and transforms us.
These practices invite us to pause, to turn inward, and to remember who we are beneath but also within the layers of daily life. They remind us that we are not separate from the divine, from the earth, or from each other.
And from this place of inner awareness, something miraculous happens: we radiate.
Outer Radiance: Sharing Our Light with the World
When our hearts are nourished by devotion (bhakti) we naturally begin to shine. This isn’t a superficial kind of radiance—it’s sacred.
This is the light we bring to our relationships. It’s the way we support one another as spiritual women. It’s the way we inspire and uplift each other to live with more energy, more creativity, and more joy.
The Power of Spiritual Connection
There is something uniquely powerful about women coming together in spiritual connection. In ancient times, women gathered around fires to chant, to pray, to share stories, and to honor the cycles of life. These gatherings were spaces of healing, wisdom, and transformation.
Today, we may not gather around physical fires, (although we will on February 9!) but we are still called to gather—in sacred spaces, in satsang - community, in shared intention.
When I connect with you I feel the Shakti powerfully, and I am reminded of our beauty, strength, wisdom, and our divine nature. I sat with someone today while on retreat at the Ashram, a dear soul, and as we connected my dear friends eyes were shining with such breathtaking light.
As we connected we held a space so we both could feel seen, heard and supported, we gossiped, cried and held each other deeply and playfully, and with Shakti energy. It was truly magnificent in a way that amplifies one another’s light extending healing and transformation that reaches far beyond ourselves.
Ahhhhh such beauty, beloved’s, such beauty.
This Month’s Invitation
This month, I invite you to connect—to look for to seek out ways you can connect with your inner awareness and with those in your life, to open and to be vulnerable
Here are a few simple ways you might like to begin:
Pause for stillness: Offer yourself 5 minutes of stillness, this could be while washing dishes or hanging washing. To notice yourself in stillness
Chant a mantra: Take 10 minutes each day to practice a mantra of your choice. Let the vibration of sacred sound carry you into deeper connection with your heart.
Reach out to someone: Whether it’s a friend, a mentor, take a moment to connect, to share, and to hold space for each other.
Reflect on your radiance: What makes you feel truly alive? What practices help you connect to your own life force?
Let’s Walk This Path Together
As we journey through this month, let’s hold each other in the light of connection. Let’s remember that our inner awareness is the foundation for our outer radiance—and that together, as spiritual women, we can create a world filled with more energy, beauty, and life force - SHAKTI.
I would love to hear from you:
What does connection mean to you?
How do you cultivate, nurture and nourish connection in your life?
What are you longing for from your spiritual journey/community right now?
Feel free to share in the comments or reach out to me directly.
Your reflections are part of the sacred tapestry we’re weaving together.
In deep gratitude,
Rabia
